8/8 - iTunes / iCloud - In this introductory level class we will be discussing the common uses of iTunes, for sync'ing and backing up devices, downloading apps, music and using iTunes to manage your collection of music and movies. We will show how to use iCloud for performing backup and syncing notes, photos, calendars and contacts. This class is geared for the newer iPhone/iPad user that wants to know how to get the most from their device as well as backing it up securely.
8/15 - iPhoto / Photos - In this class we will explore ways of organizing images using Albums and Folders to group images. We will also show how to do basic photo editing with Photos, such as Cropping, Rotating and Centering Images. We will also creat Slideshows set to background music.
8/22 - iMovie - This class will show how to use iMovie to take your video clips, organize them, and break out clips from longer videos. These segments can be put together with different effects and sound/music added.
8/29 - OS X Navigation - In this class we will show you how to navigate your way around OS X, using Finder, Mission Control, Launchpad, etc.. This will be geared as a beginner class for those new to using a Mac or a PC User considering switching to a Mac. No previous experience is necessary, we would be happy to show you around and let you use one of our computers here to see how it easy it is get around OS X. We will be using OS X Yosemite (10.10) for the demo, so if you'd like to just check out the new OS, and get a feel for using this, it would be a great time to do it!
9/5 - Backing up - In this class we will be discussing how to use iTunes/iCloud to backup your iOS devices, as well as Time Machine for backing up your Mac. We will show you how to setup an external HD for backing up in Time Machine, how to restore files, and how to be sure your backup is completing successfully. We will be demonstrating this using OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), and applies almost identically to previous versions.
9/12 - Care and Maintenance of your Mac - In this class we will be focusing on the basic tasks you should be doing to get the most out of your Mac and Apple devices. We will be talking about optimizing your system, caring for the battery, settings to help get the most out of your batteries and preventive maintenance tasks to help deal with failures if they happen. We will be discussing everything from how to properly clean the screens on your devices, to Disk Utility and understanding things like how to find out what is taking up all the space on your Mac or Apple device. This class is for beginners to everyday users of Apple Computers, Phones, iPods and iPads and will help you understand more of how to get the most from your devices.
9/19 - iOS Basics - This class will be geared to teach you how to get the most from your iPhone, iPod (Touch) and iPad. We will be discussing the basics of iOS Navigation, Creating Folders for icons, determining what is consuming space on your device, and other general use topics. We will show how to use the different camera modes. The class will be geared to questions that come up, so if you have anything you want to talk about, come down and join this class.
There is a $5 fee to attend classes. Each class will be approximately 30 minutes long. Following the class will be a Q & A session. If you would like to attend please use the payment link below so we have an idea how many people to expect. Classes will be limited to 10 keep it personal. The $5 fee is not refundable, as it is your reservation to hold the spot. Classes will be at 9:00 AM, prior to store opening at 10:00AM.
